Usenet might be obsolete, but I truly like news.gmane.org (see
http://www.gmane.org/ for details).

I don't have a good news reader installed under either Linux or OS X
currently, but when I solve that problem (at least on the Linux side), I'll be
able to revisit gmane.org - assuming it's still running by then.
