Fiber, though, provides very fast connections, so the advantage of using
Ethernet would be greater.

I had fibre in the apartment that I rented for a while, providing 50 megabits
per second connections in both directions.

In my current apartment, the connection is via cable at 105 megabits per
second downstream. The upstream speed is considerably less, but I can't
remmeber it. You might be able to achieve 105mbps connections with 802.11ac
wifi under suitable conditions.

In general, though, I think the Ethernet would be worthwhile.
