I am thinking about this as an option for next year. I have a pile
of DVDs.
Would this be something I could do? Rip the DVDs (rather than play
each individually in the DVD drive) and then stream to the Apple TV?
Would the Macbook have to be in the same room? TV is downstairs, the Mac
is upstairs. Can the iPad or iPhone be used to act as a remote? I know
Apple has a Remote app.
What ripping application is suggested? I am guessing that well over
100 DVDs would take up lots of space, so can they be stored and played
on an external drive?

. . . what if it were true?
