Hi,

Regarding Kliphton’s solution, I believe that he is referring to the 
Preferences in Mail itself, not System Preferences.  Interesting solution 
though.  It works as we hope when in the Modern or Standard view for removing 
Preview pane issues but not while in Classic view.  One must still drag the 
Horizontal Splitter down when Classic view is your preference.  Thanks for the 
fresh view Kliphton.
