I don't agree with that. I did the public beta and I upgraded on my other computer immediately when Yosemite came out. Yes, there are some bugs and some changes so that you will have to be flexible enough to relearn some things. If you don't want to do that, don't upgrade for a while. If you are willing to explore and work a little and have the time to do so, go for it!
