That non retina MBP is the 2012 model and now has been discontinued
although refurbed models may still be around.
Besides being non retina, it's thicker and heavier than a retina
model and it's slower due to its older archetecture.
It is more easily upgraded if you choose. You can, and should, swap
out that spinning hard drive and install and SSD but this will raise
the price. You can also upgrade memory.
Still, the Retina model is far superior in my opinion regardless of
its screen.
