My main problem is indeed the Imap. I had a rather lively discussion about the issues on this list a while back. I managed to converse with Google and Apple, and it was fixed for a while, but now no matter what I do e-mails either 1) Don't arrive or show up on time, 2) Aren't sent immediately (even with refresh), or 3) Are unceremoniously dumped into my Archives folder, even though I went through the process to make this not happen under the imap settings for Gmail on their website. I'll probably eventually switch to my iCloud e-mail address, but at this point it seems like an enormous hastle to switch everything over, and could be rather lengthy especially as I am in a position of having to e-mail back and forth with possible employers and other companies. If you know of a way to fix the Gmail issue, I'd be open to anything, really. I like the way Apple Mail interacts with iCloud accounts, but the system Gmail uses for Imap totally screws Apple Mail up. I know this also used to work in Mountain Lion to my knowledge, but since the update to Mavericks it's been extremely intermittent. I use Gmail fine on my iOS devices as well. Thanks, Jason -- I'll look into those.
