To the best of my knowledge there has only been one legal action under
the existing UK Equality Act and that was dropped after the company
relented and promised to fix their website accessibility. So does that
mean everything else in the UK is just peachy? Similar issues with the
AODA in Canada. The laws have no weight unless they are enforced.

Charter has an app for iPhone (haven't tested it on my iPad 2, and my iPHone 5 chewed the

channel," never worked for me, and the app would only let you stream whatever was
being offered at the moment, not the entire selection of cable channels you had
subscribed to. I'd like to see those features upgraded, as well as a navigable TV guide,
and if it's not something they can incorporate in the cable box you get from the company,
then I think an app for desktop as well as mobile devices is called for.
Personally, I think if countries such as the UK start mandating that
manufacturers provide talking cable guides, etc., it will go a long way toward
encouraging the US to do the same, which is very much in line with the ADA's
mandate for equality.
