Hi Alia, My frame of reference on this is that while I have read braille for well over 50 years, when speech came along, I used that without braille for quite some time. I view braille as a supplement to speech. I also believe that reading braille on paper is not the same as reading on a braille display. Having said this, I will tell you that for lengthy reading I typically use speech. I also agree that Apple's implementation of braille needs work, and because of this, I don't care to read lengthy documents on Apple devices. I tend to use braille much more with Windows. I do appreciate the ability to either e-mail or text in braille. I think Teresa provided sound advice. It's always good to evaluate how you will use the display. Then you can determine how important those functions are to you and whether it justifies the expense of purchasing a display. Good luck.
