The one I had so much trouble with was a DLink DIR-628. I just couldn't
get anything to stay connected for more than a few minutes. After a
bunch of fiddling I finally threw in the towel and spent a lot more on
an Apple Wifi router and all the problems just went away. Maybe I should
have spent more time and called up tech support etc. but these things
shouldn't be that hard. I still have the D-Link around thinking I'll
eventually find a use for it somewhere but it was not working well in my
home.

model of your router. I suggest doing a google search on how to
update drivers or firmware for your specific router using a Mac. You
could also start a new email conversation with the specific question
about updating your router in the subject line. There are lots of
really smart folks here on this list. I am not one of those though.

your router or did it come from your Internet Service Provider?

have CenturyLink and I can call them and they can do a reboot/reset
of my modem remotely. They can even run diagnostics. So, they could
be a good place to try. Also, did you turn your router off for a
few minutes and then restart it? Sometimes this can fix the problem
very easily. I suggest you actually unplug the unit from the wall
and give it a rest for a couple of minutes. I have had tech people
ask me to do this before and it solved the problem.
