I agree with Barry. Adding script functionality to VO only increases its power and also make things easier for elderly people who are learning to use a Screen Reader for the first time. Personally, I think JFW like VO is really great, but I also think that JFW has loads of commands that I can never remember. I do not know anyone who uses every single function of JFW. VO by comparrison has only a fraction of those commands and the Mac OS X may be more intuitive for older people. I'm in no way trying to take anything away from waht FS has done but the power to script in both Screen Readers - can only increase their power. You only need to look at what is being done with Orca on Linux to see how this can work.
