Nisus Writer and Pages are 2 both extremely well thought out and well  
written pieces of software but its horses for courses here, try them  
and see which one you like best, I like them both.

I bought Nisus Writer long before Pages was as accessible as it is now.

I like Open Office as well and I also like Bean, that's a very basic  
word processor but - given the fact its available to you for  
absolutely no charge whatever - it is a true give away.
