Hi,

The Safari beta installs a core framework for html rendering. This
affects all apple applications that share this framework. In fact,
one of the biggest issues with Safari 4 beta had to do with Mail.app
plugins like rss plugins and password helper plugins.

So, it's because of this shared library of code that the Safari
install affects other applications.

Best,
Scott
