I think that is the problem.  Just uninstalled it as well, and now on  
reply it just says "html" not quickly saying "edithtml."  When mine  
was acting up would have to use vo/tab until it would announce the  
"to:" field, then tab until it got to the html again, move mouse  
cursor to vo cursor, interact with html and move mouse again.  Then I  
could hear what I was typing usually, but sometimes once I would  
change paragraphs while typing, it would disappear.  Not very handy.   
But since I hd also just installed adium wasn't sure if it was new  
Safari or Adium, or some sort of other bug.  Even reset Vo back to  
defaults, straightened up for a couple of e-mails and then back again.

Now back to Safari 3, and it seems to be acting normal again in mail.
