Hello, I have used lyx on other distos with no problems, but I am having problems getting lyx configured on ArchLinux.
Name : lyx Version : 2.0.1-2 Name : texlive-core (texlive-most) Version : 2011.23170-1 I followed the instructions on "http://wiki.lyx.org/FAQ/LaTeXErrors#file-not-found" $ kpsewhich article.cls /usr/share/texmf-dist/tex/latex/base/article.cls I ran reconfigure from the tools menu, restarted and opened ".../examples/splash.lyx". But lyx still fails to configure properly. This is redacted output:
LyX: reconfiguring user directory checking for a Latex2e program... +checking for "latex"... yes checking for a DVI postprocessing program... +checking for "pplatex"... no checking for pLaTeX, the Japanese LaTeX... +checking for "platex"... yes kpathsea: Running mktexfmt platex.fmt Latex not usable (not LaTeX2e) [...] done checking LaTeX configuration... default values +checking list of textclasses... done LyX: Done! Warning: Document class not available ---------------------------------------- The selected document class article requires external files that are not available. The document class can still be used, but the document cannot be compiled until the following prerequisites are installed: article.cls See section 3.1.2.2 (Class Availability) of the User's Guide for more information.
Thank you. -- Regards, Brian Winfrey
