LyX-1.5.6svn works well. I doubt that anything has changed between 1.5.5 and 1.5.6svn that would account for it working now. My guess is that it has something to do with 1.5.6svn being compiled on the same system as yours (Intel Mac, 10.5.3), which makes me wonder whether something has gone wrong with our build process for the released version. If so, we'll have the same problem for future releases. Perhaps at this point we should wait and see if we have other reports of problems. (Has anyone else experienced the same problems as George?)
