Hello everybody,
Somehow, I find it difficult to use mailing lists, maybe I am a too
young computer and internet user but I can not see a single advantage.
So I tried to look around for LyX discussion boards but can't find
any. Do you know of any? Or is there any possibility to read the list
in Google Groups (where I can have a sort of- discussion board-view)?
Is a discussion board on LyX maybe planned? Or, is there any good
application to read and participate in mailing lists?
Try news://news.gname.org/gmane.editors.lyx.general
This address does not work in Thunderbird, or Unison for Mac, nor MacSOUP.
What would a working address be?

Wow, thanks for the many responses. I looked around at the many
programs available but could find only two programs that looked nice
(on the Mac OSXNews and Unison), of which only the latter was easy to
configure, I guess I'll have to pay money for it. In Unison the address
news.gmane.org works just fine.
Another thing I generally don't like about usenet oder mailing lists is
the use of real names. Not that I would ever have written anything
embarrasing in this group, but hey, you never know how you will look at
things in a few years. And with search engines like
http://123people.com/ coming up, privacy on the internet will become an
even more important topic than it is today. (Having said that, I must
admit to also be a GMail user... so where's privacy now...?)
But anyway, thanks for help once again, I'll buy this programme and
hope to be helping other LyX users in future :)
Cheers,
Max
