I like GMANE, but I actually read it through a "news reader" - I don't really like their web interface. Anyway, this could be a good alternative.


I too use GMANE's NNTP service. It avoids Steve's issue about having to "go out and get" the postings. Since my e-mail client (Thunderbird) doubles as a news reader, I just have to click on the newsgroup, wait a second for any updates, then scan the (threaded) list of subjects and read what catches my eye.
