I have the same problem. The solution suggested by Helge does not produce a
completely good result, since the generated reference is
not in superscript format.
The package savefnmark provides a simple ERT solution. Can developers
implement a solution without ERT?
Here is a LyX file showing the savefnmark solution.
Thanks for the example. I filed it in bugzilla as a enhancement request,
number 4099. It won't be forgotten, now it depends on someone
having the time and interest to implement it.
Note that you can add a second reference already, without extra packages
or ERT. Do it like this:
1. Type the first name and add the footnote to it.
2. Put a label inside the footnote
3. Type the second name.
4. Insert->Formatting->Superscript
5. Insert->Cross Reference (select the footnote reference)
When I do this, it works perfectly. The only problem here, is
if you changes the font used for footnote symbols. Then the
manually done superscript will be wrong, and this will have to be fixed
througout the document. Therefore, the savefnmark solution
is better. Developers can create a ERT-less solution, the question
is if anyone bothers. There are lots of other things to do as well.
