Yes. I also do full installation of miktex and it *is* slow. I think this is acceptable since lyx is a wrapper of latex. What I am trying to achieve is packing *everything else* together by removing perl and mingw, including a minimal python interpreter and convert.exe, even those latex<->word/html converters if feasible, to a single installation file. Maybe we can contact miktek developers and let them pack all packages in *one* zip file? Currently, they manage latex packages on a one by one basis and this is what takes most of the times. Bo
