This is the sort of thing that xfig can do painlessly for you when you export using the combined ps/latex format. If however, you insist on doing it manually, then you should add something like this as ERT: \begin{picture}(5840,3549)(1224,-3997) \put(1325,-2111){\rotatebox{90.0}{\makebox(0,0)[b]{\smash{{\SetFigFont{10}{12.0} {\familydefault}{\mddefault}{\updefault}Concentration, $C$}}}}} \end{picture}% Feel a bit sick?
