Hi All,

As a Lyx newbie (second paper using Lyx, 1st on my own) I have been pleasantly amazed
at what lyx does for you and how easy it is to actually GET WORK DONE.

I'm sure this must be a faq, but in an afternoon of trying to find the answer in the
lyx and ghostscript archives I was unable to find the answer altho I read a few
references to the problem.

However one thing that makes it somewhat less useful in the electronic interchange
world is that the onscreen fonts that are produced in the conversion to PDF are
butt-ugly altho they look fine when
printed.

I've updated to GS 7, added new fonts to both my X server and GS directories and have
verified that they are available, but the PDFs still look pixelated and grainy.

I've noticed this before in viewing papers produced by others and I simply printed
them out to read them but now that I'm involved in producing such PDFs, I'd like to
produce documents that can be
read onscreen as well. Also, I'm trying to convince a few of the faculty at the local
Univ to try out Lyx and this is a definite requirement for them.
