The fast way is to use Command-plus and then Command-minus, I believe.
On my system (windows 10) it suffices to do Ctrl+0 which activates the
buffer-zoom lyxfunction, presumably Command-0 on a mac.

I have failed in the past to understand the preview code. In
particular, I have no idea why only macOS user complain about this.
Having an idea about this last point could actually be a good starting
point to solve it.
