A couple of testing versions ago, I recall that it cleared and then did the same again. So twice for that testing version? Not correctable by reboots. I don't think it's LyX because there wasn't an actual LyX upgrade. On another laptop, using this version of Debian testing and LyX, I expanded the TeX files I required a couple of days ago, Monday, and it didn't show the slowing behaviour either? It's not a big deal.
