Never mind, folks. Discovered texhash, moved the files into their own
directory, and ran texconfig for the heck of it. Read the faq contained
therein about using amsfonts, etc, and discovered the \usepackage{blah_blah}
command which led to success after a bit of trial and error. Sorry to have
thrown more bandwidth at you.
