If I got wide a table in lyx, and I want word wrap so the table does not go beyond page limits, I have to put fixed width in the table's columns, so if I want it to look nice I have to do several DVIs until I got a good result. Isn't there a way to let lyx do this? you know, consistent with TeX-LaTeX-LyX phylosophy that you (the one who types) don't have to worry for the look, only for the content.
