Same proble here. Try to use the full path.
If you have it installed in ~/foo/bin/lyx type
~/foo/bin/lyx
I know you have it in your path, but try it!
I don't understand why this works.
I have another prob. I don't know why but lyx says my latex is not
usable. I have downloaded a precompiled version of teTeX and installed
it, but nothing... 8(
Any suggestion?
