Hello,

I'm writing to you from the perspective of a LyX user.

This notion of a meritocracy jeopardizes LyX development.
The fact of the matter is that not all of the developers
are equal in ability. The project needs a director to
set a common denominator standard. Most can't know as much
about Cygwin as Enrico for instance but are entitled to
require his contributions be comprehended by others.

The notion of a meritocracy is completely out of touch
with reality. Lars may be fuddy-duddy at times but the
LyX community needs to be protected from flash in the pan
developers who want to pick up their ball and run home
when they don't get their way. That protection has a
much higher priority than soothing feelings.

This subject had no serious suggestion for a solution.
It reminded me of fledglings piping for a bigger worm;
an ego competitive fantasy game for the under-developed.

Quit wasting the time of Lars who has proven his value,
Stephen
