We have this | version-suffix stuff that constructs lyx-1.3.6. Why do we hard code the | "lyx" bit? Ie, why don't we have a "--package-name" option to specify the | "lyx" bit that defaults to "lyx"?
It is not the user that names the package (in PACKAGE) that is us. This is what we have decided as the package name. And set in configure.ac -- Lgb
