The only OS X specific issue I can think of is renaming the lyx user's directory to "LyX" rather than "lyx": now that it is moved to the publicly visible ~/Library/Application Support/ directory, it should match the application name. Yes. There are new icons to go into the skeleton, and I seem to remember a couple of tweaks to the directions for building lyx on OS X.
