What do you mean by 'acquire'? Does the problem survive to a reboot, for example?
Yes.
It seems that OSX (or Qt/Mac) has problems to just use the fonts.
I really do not know how to work around this.
Well ... what works reliably for me is to place these fonts into one of the Mac font directories. That violates the principle that we should keep everything within the LyX.app bundle, but it is preferable to having the wrong characters show up on screen.
Shall I have the new version of the LyX/Mac installer place these fonts in a system-wide font directory?
