Dear List, on LyX1.3.1CVS xforms-0.89
I find it annoying that the floating windows (such as Layout->Character at the moment) are not always on top. That is, I select text, select Layout->Character, do my stuff, then select more text. Now the floating layout window is hidden since LyX is maximised to the full display size. I am forced to arrange the main LyX window with the floating layout window, so that there is always enough of the small window showing to hit apply without an extra click to bring to front. I have a feeling that the QT2 frontend solves this using docking or something? Well for xforms I propose an extra checkbox for "always on top" which lives either in the preferences, or in the commonly used floating dialogues. I know the window manager can handle this, but it would be nice if they opened up in that state without being manually set to always on top of *everything*. Just in front of LyX would be nice.
