We could distribute dvipost.sty for a while. Actually I think this would be a good idea for some of the other "supported" packages as well. One of the most criticized points of LyX was "the difficulty to install new styles and to create new layouts" But we should be careful with that selection and certainly not go the ScientificWorkplace way and provide an outdated and rudimentary LaTeX installation and nothing more...
