Ok, I've stopped gcc (that was still compiling). Since I'm already trying 
with the src.rpm, I'll see how that goes as well (that'll use 2.96)

Oops, it just broke:
 >rpm --rebuild home/lyx-1.3.0pre3-1.src.rpm 

no forms.h ... funny, I thought I'd installed xforms.

Oh well, I'll try it again tomorrow.
