Agreed, the rest is a problem for the documentation.

o.k. - you are the developper.

But reffering to your last mail your solution for the optional argument is 
not clear to me. If we interpret the first word of a caption in a cell as 
optional argument, how do we omit it  - as it is optional we dont have to 
enter it. Maybe it is better to take the convention that the contents of col. 
1 is the fixed argument and the contents of column 2 ist the optional 
argument in a caption row.
