The space is always occupied by the (mostly void) text widget; and
all it says (to the power user!) that the input is invalid.

It would be a great thing, if it would do more than that. But since
I can't think of anything more useful for it, I can't think of it
as a great thing. That's why I suggested to remove it from the dialogs.

I think even a beginner can imagine that "r4S{" is not a valid width.
Hmmm, anyway, I myself found these text warnings always useless.

And, eh, turning your words around: because other apps don't have it,
doesn't make it automatically a great thing :).
