Ah, that is the perfect compromise! Keep full control of the output size (Widht/Height/keep_aspect), but only a percentage scale for the LyX View. So all the LaTeX tweeking remains possible for the final output! How about the attached new layout for the File tab? LyX View allows scaling and a display check button. The toggle is to overwrite the prefs setting; in practice it'll be to overrule the prefs' "don't display" settings. But what to choose for the display mode, when it's selected; grey scale, color, or monochrome. If this is not trivial, we better keep the full choice selector as before. We need two more tabs in the graphics dialog: one for the bounding box input and another for the "Extra" fields. Comments? Rob.
