I'm with john on this.  There's definitely a problem with respect to
documentation however some differences will be required.  To fit in
with the look and feel of the desktop, the required UI guidelines etc.

On the whole they will be similar, but they'll never be merely 'the
same with different buttons'.  Also I think the differences will lead
to a UI review (something LyX hasn't had so far) with the best
features of each frontend going into the others.
