You may be right, I wouldn't know. > | Well this is evidently not true. > > Well... if the comitter cannot take critisim... Oh come on, this is bull and you know it. I've taken criticism head on, changed stuff where I've agreed with you and even when I've not, when there's no major loss of readability. I am not afraid of criticism, I'm not afraid of being called on lousy code and I'm not afraid of raising the bar of code quality in LyX. I've tried three times to get this WorkArea thing sorted out, and each time I've argued against your ideas, and tried to explain why they won't work well. Each time you've come up with spurious crap and then just fallen silent. I have no problem with you trying to come up with other ways to do things, but when you persist in doing so, and do not take any board any of the major problems I point out with those solutions, and still refuse to take the original change for fear of a single lousy scoped_ptr, and refuse to look around the final state of the code, and refuse to try out your "solutions" yourself, that's when we've reached a stalemate. Did I mention I've actually /tried/ a couple of your ideas ? And they sucked ? I literally don't know what more I can do. I steadfastedly refuse to majorly uglify the code based on your whims. And we all know sometimes you are whimsical. > | Who is it ? Do they have the time to liaise with me on getting work into > | the tree in a form agreeable to all ? > > piecemeal please... *cough*. Is that not what I've been doing ? Did you see the length of the last patch where we reached dead lock ? It's tiny and obvious. Same goes for the mouse_state patch, each of the "move file here" patches etc. At least attempt to approach accuracy in your complaints. > | nice maintainable implementation ? > > then help me flean up the core data structurs... That is your job, I'm just some UI guy, remember ? > I am a bit uncertain why all this flamage is beeing directed at me... You're the one saying "no" > (was it a good party tonight?)
