Just a stupid question what is this all about? Why do I need to insert 1cm+2mm-3mm??? Isn't that the same as inserting "9mm"??? Or does LaTeX interpret that in some other fascion? If it's just '9mm' then we should't add the strange stretch and shrink stuff only because someone could insert some strange values in the old version (no check for the lenght). We just should give a warning when converting the old documents and put there something like "3cm+3em-12em" no valid lenght anymore please fix this in the paragraph parameters!
