dur, of course we use the char * one everywhere.

And cgrepall '(".*").*+' alone has 69 matches. Argh.

forgot to mention, I'm using gcc-3.0-20010528. So we probably
/do/ have this bug in 1.1.6 (it is our bug isn't it ?)

Any ideas on what to do anyone ? why doesn't the compiler give a warning or
something ?
