Why are you all having fun discussions when I am away? Now, you have
taken all the valid points I might have made, I'm frustrated :)

Larry, just one point (which has already been made, I know): LyX 1.0.x
codebase is _ugly_. Most of 1.1.x was about rewriting it, and it is
something that should have been done long long ago. New insets and
GUI-I are part of this story. There are some trivial bugs I've been
trying to look at and which I left as they were because the code was
so scary.

The problem is not about having the right product at the right time
(we don't care about that, until we've gone IPO); it's about having a
good mintainable program. We do not have the sales people forcing us
to ship badly-written/good-looking junk, and we _do_ intend to use
this freedom.

In the long tewrm, I'm sure this is the right thing to do.
