I disagree. We /can/ and we /will/ finish a GUII Qt2. It /will/ happen
and it will happen as soon as a very small group of volunteer coders
with limited time can do it.
We all have reservations about GUII. I should point out here the /main/
reason GUII hasn't happened yet is simply because of developer uninterest
- most of the core developers aren't interested in coding GUII. Even Allan,
the instigator of much of the GUII stuff, has stated he is perfectly happy
with xforms.
This means the grunt work for doing this falls on me, you, Kalle, Angus, etc.
- all who want to see this more than anything else in lyx.
Where's everyone's can-do attitude gone ?
Users such as Larry can help out best by reporting bugs and UI problems.
The hard bits are next after 1.2.0; this is where I start peppering the list
with inane questions until I can get something done, or someone else does out
of sheer annoyance with my persistence :)
after that, we're basically done for UNIX ! Finishing the dialogs is /easy/
regards,
john
