This should be fixed now. Have you re-tried this with the latest patch
(mathed63.diff)?

Come on. Using $YOUR_FAVOURITE_LANGUAGE is not common either in most
cases and yet we support a dozens of them...
I see no way to support "inplace editing" in such "uncommon" cases. So
what am I supposed to do if somebody needs it? Crash LyX, saying "you are
trying to use uncommon macros and this is disallowed"?
