In theory yes.
In practice it'd probably better to rewrite math arrays seperately.

things we can share, there are many we can't. Trying to unify structures
most likely will open another can of worms and I am pretty busy closing
the one I opened already...
And I have to confess that I am not entirely happy with this linear cell
numbering in tabular. I really want a _simple_ 2d-structure for multiline
math and I do not want to step on Juergen's toes, so keeping things
seperated seems prudent.
Of course I hope that in the very end some of the mathed stuff will be
re-usable in other parts of LyX, but I think macros would go this way first
and this will be some time after mathed is "done" (i.e. early in 2012
perhaps ;-})
