My opinion is that yes you should (commit first to branch, and then to master as stated in the Development.lyx guide). I'm not an expert on these topics but I think that removing unnecessary preamble code is a plus and fixing compilation of another export format is a plus. The most important thing is that the document still compiles with the default format after the change, which if I remember correctly is PDF (pdflatex) for this document. Scott
