I don't think a cleanup patch is ever planned ;-) In the current pre-release time, it's the release manager's right to claim a proof of "no test regressions" for a patch to go in. In normal inter-release development times, I think it is too restricting to insist on tested regression-free patches. IMO, a sane state of the test suite can also be maintained without stifling work on the code if the test suite is cleaned up in a couple of days whenever new test failures are noticed. (This is also the intention of my edits to 3.3.1.1 Expectations of LyX developers in Developing.lyx). Günter
