But a bit down it also says

      icon: icon of lfun used in toolbar or direct icon name

Strange, "info-insert icon math-insert \vphantom" works for me.

Yes, I think that this definitely needs to be corrected ;-)

On screen it does not, but it does scale in the output.

It is very predictable: you always get a width of 1em.

Now you are talking about the representation on screen?
