This is better IMO. We will certainly have a need a toggle to chose
between separate selection of families and integrated packages like
pslatex[*], times and other psnfss packages (for backward compatibility),
concrete, and many others I probably forget.
I think we need to devise a file format to describe these fonts (what
.fd files are needed, what packages are needed) and see if we can have
most of the fonts fit in there. Then we could have a latex script to
chack which of these fonts are indeed available.

[*] if I remember correctly, pslatex is a bit more than chosing ps
fonts: it does a bit of size scaling of the fonts, so that they mix
correctly together.
