I tried it. But this reveals a problem. Some menu items are "bound" to a view. They don't work when the last window was closed. See ticket http://www.lyx.org/trac/ticket/6902 About and TeXInfo are using LFUN_DIALOG_SHOW and rely on an existing GuiView instance - an open window. Stephan
